Spraybooth specialist David Utting Engineering has delighted AB Crush Panelcraft Ltd, one of the South East’s premier vehicle bodyshops, with the installation of two XP 1200 spraybooths. David Utting Engineering project managed the whole installation including the groundwork and structural engineering for the works.

Established in 1970, AB Crush is a family owned business with a reputation for quality. Their premises comprises a 25,000 Sq/Ft facility in Canterbury with the most sophisticated repair equipment available and a workforce trained to the highest standards on the latest equipment.

Nathan Crush, son of Company founders Alan & Wendy Crush and Director of the firm, explains the background to David Utting Engineering coming into the project:

“For the last 15 years we had been running two spraybooths but there was a clear need to update and increase the capacity so we turned to the market. David Utting Engineering stood out as the best company to manage the whole project and provided a design which would give us more capacity whilst reducing operating times and lower costs considerably.”

We had two XP1200 installed initially and have subsequently added one more which brings us up to full capacity. They’re light years ahead of the others; they’re quick, quiet and efficient. They’ve halved our bake time which is a considerable factor in allowing us to grow the business and we’ve reduced our carbon footprint.’
